the 4th and a garden update

I love a small town! We made our way over to Margaretville for the fun festivities of July 4th… thank goodness the weather was clear after almost a full 24 hours of torrential thunderstorms. I almost made myself sick on the “Orbitor”, one of the more scarier torpedoing rides, took in the carnival action, figured out which screams were coming from certain rides and stayed away AND watched a pretty spectacular fireworks display.

A fun little town full of flavor, that’s Margaretville.

On the garden front… seems that with the EXTREME weather patterns lately things have survived so far, the peas have gone mental… they are the biggest they have ever been, whilst the tomato plants remain dwarfed but are trying to produce flowers… so who knows how that will turn out.

radish harvest, blueberries just turning, bed of eight ball zucchini squash

cucumber plants, tomatoes, mental peas!

And of course there was plenty of eating going on.

fresh radishes and picked greens and cauliflower bake, farm boiled eggs and soldiers, homemade granola and rhubarb compote.

I do love the way you garden beds look like regimented soliders! LOL I’m just jealous!
