    I love the photo of the kids birthday party. I remember looking at that photo wondering how nice it would be to have a table spread like that on our birthdays. then Nan would arrive with her special cake/pressie/hats? and it would be so much better than the photo! thanks for the memory!

    oh, Edmonds cookbooks! I grew up with a NZ mum (and American dad), so I have my own (much more modern) version of Edmonds. Bummer – I kind of like the retro picks, not all are very appetizing though. I have started a small collection of really great retro cookbooks, so fun to see the trends/photos change. People always mock the 90’s for things like rasberry vinegar (maybe that was the 80s?) and sundried tomatoes. What will look dated from the 2000’s, I wonder?
