peonies

Yes. Yes.Yes.  It finally happened and after me harping on long enough about it, to you all, like a broken bleedin record!  Peering through the continuous curtain of rain we had upstate this weekend, constantly checking on the progress,”has it opened yet, has it opened yet, has it opened yet?” you’d think I’d never seen a flower grow before AND then finally…. finally…. finally… low and behold the loveliness of peonies…

The aroma alone is worth the wait, right? They are so beautiful and always bloom in time for graduation ceremonies and June weddings. What a treat to see them looking so healthy. Hooray for peonies!

Sadly mine opened while I was away. After waiting and waiting I found most of them in a soggy, wet messy pile on my garden floor! They are gorgeous except when they decide to open right before a monsoon.

I got hysterical today reading the Design Sponge entry from Nick Dewar. There’s a photo of Marmite and custard that reminded me of your love for all things Marmite!! Funny.
