facelift

That’s right The Catskill Kiwi got a face lift and it didn’t hurt one bit!! The bandages are off and now may I present to you my new redesign.. ta dah!!  For those of you just joining in, this kiwi pretty much had a no frills, minimalistic blog face,  so I subsequently decided to “kick it up a notch” and provide you all with some visual eye candy to accompany my general rantings, mad mutterings, random recipes, garden woes and a spot or two of photography.

Isn’t she fabulous? Feel free to jump right on in here and give some feedback.  I managed to wrangle this illustration from the paws of my good friend and AMAZING artist Michael Sanzone…. he can pretty much create genius artistry in multiple mediums and if he EVER updates his blog, you all might be able to see it too.  Next week I will be running a competition where you will get a chance to win one of Mike’s very cool illustrations from his latest show…. “WOOD”  so gander on back and stay tuned for that one.

And another weekend bites the dust, it was a horrifyingly stark contrast from last weekends blazing weather, being frigidly cold.  Just a reminder that its only the beginning of May people, 85F+ weather is NOT normal and to NOT get ahead of ourselves.

I took my usual spin down to the dump, sorry transfer station and got these….

softballs1

another punter had a box of them he was chucking out, so I grabbed a few, not before being corrected that they are actually softballs, not baseballs, as I assumed.  Didn’t know you folks played softball here.  Anyway I think they look really pretty as my table center piece.
