Yip I grew me some peas and a boat load of kale… what to do with it all is another question, but in the meantime here’s a quick recipe using both.
Rigatoni with Peas and Kale
1/2 medium onion sliced
6 cloves garlic sliced (yes I love garlic)
1/2 bunch kale thinly sliced
1/2 c fresh peas
1/3 c grated parmesan
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 pd pasta
1 c veggie stock (or you could use 1 c pasta water, the stock gives it a bit more flavor)
Cook pasta how you like, reserving at least a cup of the cooking liquid.
Heat oil in a pan, saute garlic and onions until golden brown, add, crushed red pepper flakes and 3 tbsp of hot pasta liquid and throw in the kale and peas, cook until wilted and bright green. Toss pasta into skillet to coat, add cheese, toss again and serve.

Yum!! That’s what we want for dinner….unfortunately no kale or peas grow outside my door!
I bet it tastes that much better when you grow it yourself!
